History

EBINGER has its roots in the field of bomb disposal where the company founder introduced his first detectors some forty years ago. Coal face experience, in depth know how and the refinement of a new detection principle finally led to the creation
of the company in 1969.

A large number of inventions and trend setting innovations now carry the name of EBINGER, which in the meantime
became a world-renowned brand name.

1962 First operations with own locators for German police

1964 Employment in bomb disposal

1965 Transistorisation of the US mine detector SCR 625

1966 New developed metal detector Köln 661(introduced into service as the 'hockey stick')

1967 Prototypes designed after the 'EB damping system' under field trial

1969 Company registration.
Exclusive export sales rights awarded to Institut Dr. Förster, Reutlingen
The 'Köln 661' detector is exported under the type designation METEX® 4.100

1971 EB 710-Cartridge detector for forensic police work

1972 Detector system 401 (METEX® 4.114) -forensic police-

1973 Purchase of the pulse induction patents from Colani
